Blue has always been associated with sadness, hopelessness, and depression for me. It's a color I associate with being judged (often unfairly) as well. So here's a poem about a time that embodies those feelings for me.

"The Blues"

Blue shirt,
Navy pants.
A blue uniform,
For a school built on blue feelings.
Sky above,
From periwinkle to sapphire--
You are no shield from
Summer sun
Or man enraged.
Rake once,
Then twice,
Twist and load.
Feathers shimmer
With a sheen of midnight blue.
Stumble,
Fall.
Blue shirt,
Navy pants.
Prisoners’ garb--
To match the marks inscribed.

When I first tried to think about what was green, I thought of the nauseous emoji:

That quickly led to Bio from FF6. I never found the spell that useful but would sometimes cast it on my characters to make them purple. >.>

Thinking of status effects in FF6, I thought of how cute I find the imps to be. And how awesome they were equipped in full imp gear.

I thought about Kefka and his fancy green robes. I've seen so many call him a jester, but really he always looked like (and acted like) a guy that expects to be lavished with power and wealth. Someone that would rather look like a king and lust for domination, rather than take responsibility for leading.

Finally, green in FF6 makes me think of Terra and her amazing hair. I think that was the first time I wished I had more interesting hair colors than what I was born with. I could relate a lot with her backstory too. Ripped from the world she belong in, enslaved, and forced to do the bidding of a power-hungry emperor. Then I found out she could change into a glowing fur beast and I was enthralled.

And those are my green thoughts about FF6.

Yellow reminds me of the famous "We Can Do It!" poster that's often attributed as Rosie the Riveter.

I don't have a lot of profound things to say about it. I've just liked this poster for a long time. It always makes me feel stronger when I look at it. So here's a pixel heart based on the poster.

Orange always makes me think of the flames of a phoenix and the change that represents. I've had an idea for a short ficlet about change for awhile, so I appreciate the excuse to finally write it.

For some, the color red can signify personal power and tenacity. When something flares red for you, what does that mean? When was the last time you felt the power of a red concept or emotion?

Red reminds me of violence, but I always told people red was my favorite color as a child. So red reminds me of being playful-- but also violence.

"A Sanguine Affair"

One hand to hold a sharpened blade,
